Two more held over Gazipur journalist killing

Gazipur, Aug 9 – Police in separate drives arrested two more suspects in connection with the killing of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Chowrasta area of Gazipur city.

The arrestees were Shah Jalal, 32 and Foysal Hassan.

Based on the information from those arrested earlier in this connection, police arrested Shah Jalal from Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district while Foysal from Chandona Mahbub School intersection in Gazipur early Saturday, said Rabiul Hasan, Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police.

With this, seven people have so far been arrested in this connection.

Rabiul Hasan said police arrested Ketu Mizan and his wife Golapi from Bhawanipur area of Dhaka on Friday night. A RAB team arrested Swadhin.

Meanwhile, another team of police arrested Alamin from Turag are. Another suspected accused Sumon was arrested from Mymensingh district on Friday, he said.

All of them were produced before the court on Saturday, said Rabiul Hasan.

However, efforts are on to arrest the others involved in the murder.

Tuhin, a staff reporter of Dainik Protidiner Kagoj, was hacked to death in public by a group of armed men near Chowrasta on Thursday night.
