BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and the Prime Minister's Political Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said that any evil attempt to erase the history and spirit of the Liberation War from people’s minds will never succeed.

“The Liberation War is a history written in the blood of the people of this country. The sacrifice of the liberation martyrs including mothers and sisters can never be forgotten. If anyone tries to make people forget through conspiracy, the nation will resist it,” he said.

Rizvi made the remarks while talking to journalists after paying respects at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in the city’s  Sher-e-Bangla Nagar near the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on behalf of the newly formed 151-member central committee of the Bangladesh Jatiyotabadi Muktijoddha Projoinmo.

He said the Jatiyotabadi Muktijoddha Projoinmo will play an important role in conveying the history of the Liberation War, the spirit of independence, and the message of courage to the new generation.

Regarding the energy crisis, Rizvi said this is not an isolated problem of Bangladesh but rather an international crisis. Emphasizing renewable energy, he said that to increase the use of solar power, the government should reduce taxes on this sector and facilitate the import of equipment.

He called for increasing tax benefits to encourage the use of rooftop solar panels, saying that it would meet electricity demand while reducing foreign dependence.

State Minister for Liberation War Affairs and President of the Jatiyotabadi Muktijoddha Projoinmo Engineer Ishrak Hossain, BNP Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, President of the Freedom Fighters’ Dal and heroic freedom fighter Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, and General Secretary of the Jatiyotabadi Muktijoddha Projoinmo Dr. K. M. A. I. Montri, along with other party leaders, participated in the event, reports BSS.
