State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today said the people of Bangladesh will remain safe under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Ganggail Union Land Office in Nandail Upazila of the district.

The state minister said the government has already started working to fulfil the commitments made to the people during the last election.

Yasser, also a BNP lawmaker from Mymensingh-9, urged party leaders and activists to maintain organisational discipline and devote themselves to public service.

He also called upon party members to play an active role in implementing the programmes undertaken by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Calling for unity for the development of Nandail, he said there would be no place there for drugs, extortionists, gamblers, oppressors, tyrants or land grabbers.

"Nandail will be transformed into a modern and developed upazila," he added.

Earlier, the state minister inaugurated the Bakchanda GC Road in Nandail Sadar, reports BSS.

Local administrative officials and leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies were present.
