Govt working for unity, nation-building: Salahuddin

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said the current government is working with a commitment for national unity and building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.


Speaking to journalists after exchanging Eid greetings with the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Gulshan residence today, he said all citizens, regardless of political affiliation must unite for the country’s development under the slogan, “Bangladesh First.”

The minister said people in Bangladesh have been enjoying a free, peaceful, and stable environment since August 5, 2024, allowing them to celebrate consecutive Eid festivals in a festive atmosphere. 

He also urged the people to pray for continued peace, stability, and prosperity of the nation.

Ahmed further said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman visited the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at Zia Udyan. 

They also visited graveyards of late Arafat Rahman Koko at Banani Graveyard, deceased family member and army officers martyred during BDR mutiny and offered prayers there.

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam was present, among others, reports BSS.
