
He said BNP is working to establish the democratic rights of the people, promote multiparty democracy and protect the country’s independence and sovereignty.
The minister said this while inaugurating a rally organised in Lakshmipur today marking the 48th founding anniversary of BNP.
The minister said during its long political journey, BNP has stood beside the people while facing various adversities.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the government has been working for public welfare from the first day of forming the government, he added.
Regarding the development of Lakshmipur, the minister said the government is working sincerely to fulfill the long-standing expectations of the people of the district.
Besides resolving river erosion, water logging and water management problems, necessary initiatives are also being taken for the economic and infrastructural development of Lakshmipur, he said.
Organised by Lakshmipur district unit of BNP, the rally paraded through various roads of the town.
Zila Parishad Administrator Shahab Uddin Sabu, district BNP Joint Convener Advocate Hasibur Rahman and Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, were present, among others, on the occasion, reports BSS.
Leaders, activists and supporters of district BNP and its affiliated organisations joined the rally.
