Anee blames opposition for conspiracy against democracy
Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee has said the opposition is involved in a fresh conspiracy to undermine democracy.
He said this while speaking at a programme marking the inauguration of bank protection work along the WAPDA Canal in Bhabaniganj Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila here today.
Anee said that opposition activities, including flash processions, vehicle burning and cocktail attacks remind us of the activities of those people who fled the country on August 5.
“A deep conspiracy is underway against the country, democracy and the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman,” he said.
Anee said political differences and debates are normal in the parliament, but the opposition behaves differently outside the parliament.
Executive Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board’s Feni Circle Nahid Uz Zaman Khan, District BNP Joint Convener Hasibur Rahman, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy and Sadar (East) Upazila BNP President Main Uddin Chowdhury Riaz, among others, attended the programme, reports BSS.
