Chattogram University BCL withdraws blockade

A faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chattogram University (CU) unit withdrew their programmes .



A faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chattogram University (CU) unit, who have been on indefinite blockade on the campus since Monday morning, withdrew their programmes at 12midnight.
CU unit BCL vice-president Pradeep Chakrabarti Durjoy said, "As per the instructions of our leader AJM Nasir Uddin considering the students' study, we withdrew the ongoing movement. He assured us to discuss the issue to the central Chhatra League."
A group of BCL leaders and activists started protest around 8 am on Monday and locked the main gate of the university, halting classes and exams of the university as they were 'deprived of posts in the full committee of the unit'.
Following the protest, the shuttle train service also came to a halt.
The agitated BCL activists placed a three-point demand including posts in the committee.
After three years, the full committee of the CU unit BCL was announced on July 31.
