Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said her party has no problem with BNP's ongoing anti-government programmes, unless those turn into violent ones.

"BNP is holding processions, rallies and meetings at various parts of the country and we have no objection with it," she said.

Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque said this in a news briefing after emerging from the Awami League Parliamentary Party (ALPP) meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with party president and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina in the chair tonight.

Quoting the Prime Minister, he said, "It will be dealt with iron hands if they carry out any violent acts in the name of movements".

Razzaque said that the AL would take punitive action if anyone of the party work against the party nominated candidates in the local government elections.

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury said that the premier asked the party lawmakers to project the government's development activities and successes made in the last 13 years before the public.

She also asked all to give a befitting and instant reply to the anti- government propaganda, reports BSS.
