Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the poisonous tree of communal forces must be uprooted for building the 'Sonar Bangla' of Bangabandhu’s dream.

"The poisonous tree of communal forces must be uprooted from the path of building 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," he said.

He said this after paying rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreath at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No. 32 here this morning, marking the late leader’s 103rd birth anniversary and the National Children's Day 2023.

About the elections, Quader said Awami League wants the elections to be held as per the constitution and keeping the constitutional provisions intact.

Whenever BNP assumed power, it repeatedly defamed the constitution, he said, adding that Awami League will protect the dignity of the constitution and hold the next election accordingly, reports BSS.
