Singer Nakul Kumar gets 263 votes, loses security deposit

He got 263 votes with the towel symbol in the election held on Sunday .

Nakul Kumar Biswas, a popular singer who participated in the 12th National Parliamentary Election from Krishak Sramik Janata League in Madaripur 3 Constituency, has lost security deposit.

He got 263 votes with the towel symbol in the election held on Sunday (January 7). If a candidate does not get more than 8th of the total valid votes cast in any constituency, the candidate's security deposit is forfeited. Because of this, the security deposit of Nakul Kumar Biswas was forfeited.

After the declaration of results, independent candidate Tahmina Begum was elected in Madaripur-3 constituency by getting 96,333 votes. His nearest, Abdus Sobhan Golap of Awami League's boat symbol, got 61,971 votes. Nakul Kumar Biswas got 263 votes with towel symbol.

Nakul Kumar Biswas' official Facebook page has 19 lakh followers. Even local residents were surprised that Nakul got so few votes despite having a large number of followers on Facebook.
