Death toll in anti-discrimination movement will be over 1500

Patuakhali: BNP's Central Executive Committee Secretary for Training, prominent television talk show personality Alhaj ABM Mosharraf Hossain said, 'UN has come to investigate the incident of hellish killings in the anti-discrimination student movement. BNP had support in this movement from the beginning. The leaders and workers of our Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, Sramik Dal have actively participated in this movement. 127 leaders of our party were killed in this movement. 49 people of Chhatra Dal were killed. 10 people lost their eyes. 52 children were killed. Regardless of the number of people killed in the fall of the fascist Sheikh Hasina government, according to various sources information the number of people killed will be at least one and a half to two thousand. ABM Mosharraf Hossain said these things as a chief guest in an exchange meeting with local media workers at Engineer Tauhidur Rahman (CIP) auditorium of Kalapara press club on Wednesday (November 4) noon.

ABM Musharraf also said in the meeting held with the media workers under the chairmanship of Humayun Kabir, Convener of the press club, ‘BNP will give full support to the interim government. Awami League government led by murderer Sheikh Hasina was involved in corruption and irregularities. They have destroyed all constitutional institutions of the country including judiciary, election commission. By helping the government to remain in power without voting, the police, RAB and other party officials of the administration have acquired huge amounts of money through corruption and irregularities. Therefore, the leaders and workers of a big party like Awami League have lost moral morale and fled the country.’

ABM Musharraf said, ‘Kalapara is an important place in the country. There are famous tourist centers like Kuakata, thermal power station, sea port, naval base. We want to establish a peaceful society in Kalapara. It doesn't matter to us who makes which party. There is only one thing for us, we are the people of Kalapara. Those who have done wrong will be tried according to the existing law.’

Upazila BNP President Haji Humayun Sikdar, General Secretary Advocate Hafizur Rahman Chunnu, Municipal BNP President Gazi Md. Farooq, general secretary Musa Tawhid Nannu Munshi, upazila BNP organizational secretary advocate Khandkar Nasir Uddin, former president of the press club Mejbah Uddin Mannu, vice president of reporters club Omar Farooq, journalist Chanchal Saha and others also spoke in the meeting. - Gofran Biswas Palash
