Police have apprehended former Member of Parliament (MP) Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman in connection with murder cases linked to the deaths of students during the July revolution.

Suman faces multiple murder charges filed at Mirpur Model and Adabor police stations. His arrest took place during a raid conducted by Mirpur Model Police in the early hours of Tuesday, October 22, confirmed Duty Officer Ohid.
Prior to his arrest, Suman posted on his verified Facebook account at 1:21 AM, stating, “I am going with the police. See you in court. Pray for me, everyone.”
Despite being a member of the Jubo League’s central committee, Suman was elected as an independent candidate in the 2024 national elections from Habiganj. His arrest has drawn significant attention and raises questions about the ongoing investigations into the events surrounding the July revolution.
