BNP activist murdered in Noakhali

Feni, 27 Dec  - A BNP activist was murdered by unidentified miscreants in Noakhali's Begumganj upazila on Friday.

The deceased, Kabir Hossain alias Sali Kabir, 35, was the son of the late Nur Nabi of Sujaitpur village in the upazila.

The incident occurred in front of the Sujaitpur Purbo Jame Masjid at around 1:40pm.

According to locals, Kabir was an active member of the local BNP at the ward level. On Friday afternoon, he went to offer Jummah prayers at the Sujaitpur Purbo Jame Masjid, located next to his house. After completing the prayers, he left the mosque to head home.

At that moment, 5-6 masked assailants arrived in front of the mosque in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw and opened fire on him.

Kabir was shot in the head and fell to the ground. The assailants cut the vein in his left leg, slit his throat, and confirmed his death, before fleeing, according to witnesses.
