Those who deny role of Islamists in July-August Revolution are allies of fascism

Commenting that there is no room for denying the contribution of Islamists in the July-August mass uprising, Advocate Sheikh Lutfur Rahman President and Advocate Mashiur Rahman, Secretary General of Islami Ainjibi Parishad (Islamic Lawyers Council) said, "It is extremely unfair that the textbooks do not recognize the contribution of Islamic organizations and Islamists in the history of the July-August Revolution. 

Those who deny the contribution of Islamists are allies of fascism. If any writing or history is written about the July-August Revolution, the contribution of Islamists and scholars must be recorded. Those who do not acknowledge the contribution of Islamic organizations and scholars are enemies of Islam and humanity." The two leaders said this in a statement sent to the media on Sunday. The two leaders said that we must move forward while maintaining the unity that was built during the fall of fascism. It is necessary to maintain that unity to advance the new dream of the uprising of the country's students, workers, and Islamists. 

The Islamic lawyer leaders said that the 1972 constitution could not establish the power of the people either, the authoritarian government had established a system of governance by creating divisions among the people. To establish a new political settlement, the authoritarian ssytem must be broken and an accountable system established. For this, the people must remain united and ensure the victory of Islam. In no way will conspiracy be accepted against Islam, Islamic organizations, and Islamic values. - Press release
