Dhaka, 12 Feb  - BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, who received treatment for a brain tumour in Singapore in 2023, has travelled to Singapore again for a health check-up.

The 79-year-old former minister departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Singapore on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 8:05am on Wednesday, his younger son Khandaker Maruf Hossain told UNB.

He said Mosharraf will undergo several medical tests at the Singapore National Hospital to assess his health condition.

Maruf said sphenoid wing meningiomas were diagnosed outside his father’s brain in 2023. Later, doctors at Singapore National Hospital provided upfront radiotherapy to manage the tumour’s adverse effects.

“Doctors will now review the new reports and the outcome of the upfront radiotherapy,” Maruf said.

He said Mosharraf is expected to return home on February 22.

Earlier, on June 27, 2023, the BNP leader travelled to Singapore for better treatment of his brain tumour.

He returned home on September 5, 2023 after receiving treatment for two months and ten days.
