Adviser Nahid Islam._11zon
I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for Adviser Nahid Islam’s recent decision to resign from his advisory position to lead the new political party that the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement (ADSM) has been diligently working towards for some time.
His leadership and unwavering commitment to the cause of anti-discrimination have been truly inspiring. As the lead coordinator of the Anti-quota reform movement, which later evolved into the ADSM, he played a pivotal role in mobilizing the students, supported by masses, and spearheading the upsurge that ultimately compelled the AL government to relinquish its 15-year fascist rule. His efforts have not only helped bring about significant change but have also paved the way for a brighter and more democratic future.
The formation of a new political party is a monumental step towards reforming the statecraft that political forces have fought for over the past 15 years. It is a time for a solid democratic restart, where human rights, democracy, and the building of a discrimination-free society will be the guiding principles. His decision to lead this new party is a testament to his dedication to these ideals and his vision for a better future.
While political parties have welcomed the move to form a new political party, they have also cautioned that it should not be done while holding a position in the Interim Government, which by its very nature should remain impartial. Nahid Hossain’s resignation from the advisory role demonstrates his commitment to maintaining the integrity and impartiality of the Interim Government, and it is a decision that is both commendable and honorable.
Once again, I extend my deepest appreciation for the dedication, and the sacrifices he has made for the greater good.
With sincere gratitude and best wishes,
Tariqul Islam
