He added that, as there are no financial implications tied to these administrative and policy changes, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus has instructed for swift action on them. A document outlining these decisions is being prepared, and the concerned ministries will implement them as needed.
The six reform commissions—covering the Constitution, Judiciary, Electoral System, Public Administration, Police, and Anti-Corruption Commission—have submitted numerous recommendations to the interim government.
Alam also addressed the issue of model mosques, revealing that about 560 such mosques were constructed during the previous government, costing around one billion dollars. He mentioned that several irregularities have been reported, prompting the Ministry of Religious Affairs to form an investigative committee.
Additionally, Alam shared that the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will provide $4 million to Bangladesh for fruit preservation projects. The briefing followed a meeting of the Council of Advisers, chaired by Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus.
