Army Chief Calls on Chief Adviser Yunus at Jamuna

On Sunday, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman paid a courtesy visit to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse, Jamuna.


During their meeting, General Waker briefed the Chief Adviser on the Army's efforts to ensure overall security during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, according to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Army Chief outlined the measures in place to ensure the smooth operation of launch terminals, train stations, and bus stands, as well as uninterrupted vehicular movement on key highways. He also discussed the Army's role in maintaining peace and stability during the holiday season.

Additionally, General Waker highlighted the Army's initiatives to mediate between industrial owners and workers, promoting harmony within the labor sector. He also informed Professor Yunus about the ongoing efforts to organize Iftar and prayer gatherings across all cantonments, in solidarity with those injured during the July uprising.

Furthermore, the Army Chief shared details of financial assistance programs established for injured soldiers and the families of martyrs.

In response, the Chief Adviser commended the Army's professionalism and its significant contributions to the nation's security. He offered guidance on future operations and expressed confidence that the Bangladesh Army would continue to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and security with utmost dedication.

At the conclusion of the meeting, General Waker extended his early Eid greetings to Professor Yunus.
