Former Lawmaker Morshed Alam Arrested in Gulshan

Former Lawmaker Morshed Alam



Morshed Alam, a three-time lawmaker representing Noakhali-2 (Senbagh-Sonaimuri) and the Chairman of Bengal Group, was arrested last night in the capital’s Gulshan area.


The arrest was made by a team from the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) after receiving a tip-off. Alam was detained in connection with several ongoing cases.

Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of DB's Media and Public Relations Division, confirmed the arrest. Alam is scheduled to be presented before the court today.
