BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is set to return to Bangladesh on Monday (April 14), after completing a series of medical check-ups in Singapore along with his wife, Rahat Ara Begum.

Speaking to UNB on Friday afternoon, Fakhrul confirmed their return, saying, “InshaAllah, we will return home in the afternoon on April 14.”

He also shared that their test results were satisfactory. “My wife is doing well—she’s healthy and in good condition,” he added.

The couple had flown to Singapore on April 6 for routine health examinations.

Following his return, Fakhrul is expected to lead a BNP delegation in a high-profile meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on April 16. The meeting, scheduled for 12:00 noon at the State Guest House Jamuna, aims to seek clarity on the roadmap for the upcoming national election and to address ongoing concerns about proposed electoral reforms.
