Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Md. Mahfuj Alam, said the interim government is making continuous efforts to ensure a democratic transition in Bangladesh, aiming to build a progressive and just nation.
He made the remarks during an interview with TRT World on Saturday, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 in Türkiye.
Criticizing the former government, Mahfuj said the current administration is working to revive the country’s economy, which he described as “collapsed” during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure. He added that the government is also committed to restoring stability in institutions by addressing past injustices, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
“Our key priorities are institutional reforms, justice for past atrocities, and facilitating a democratic election,” Mahfuj stated in a press release issued on Sunday.
He further emphasized that the interim government is placing strong focus on transparency, accountability, and the rule of law as it works toward national renewal.
