Dhaka, Apr 25 – Dhaka District Jubo Dal President Yasin Ferdous Murad on Friday alleged that a plot is underway not only to delay the upcoming election but also to thwart it for an extended period.

“The people of the country want the election to take place before December this year. But, certain quarters are attempting to delay the polls under the guise of reforms. There are also efforts to prevent the election for a prolonged period,” he said.

The BNP leader made the remarks during an extended meeting of the BNP in the Suapur Union of Dharmarai Upazila, held at the local Union Parishad office. Leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, and other associated bodies of the party attended the meeting.

Murad urged party leaders and workers to remain vigilant, warning them against falling into any traps and to avoid causing a chaotic situation.

He also said various plots are being hatched against BNP to damage its reputation. “But, under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, all these conspiracies will be foiled, and the people will regain their voting rights.”

The Jubo Dal leader also called upon the interim government to announce an election roadmap by December, once the necessary reforms are completed.

Murad referred to Tarique Rahman’s outlined plan for the next BNP government, saying that they will establish an equal and humane state by implementing the 31-point plan for restructuring the state framework.

“This will include family cards, farmer cards, unemployment benefits, employment opportunities, free healthcare, fair prices for agricultural products, increased purchasing power for the public, and ensuring fair wages for workers,” he said. - UNB
