Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku today said that Sheikh Hasina had destroyed the country and the nation while in the state power to take revenge the murder of her father.

"After assuming power, the Awami League had distorted history," he told a discussion at Sirajganj  Abdullah Al Mahmud Memorial Library auditorium of the District Bar Association building here.

Referring to Awami League's brutality, he said that according to the United Nation (UN), the Awami League had killed 1,500 people in just five days after it first came to power.

Awami League leaders had set up seven camps to kill people in Sirajganj, he said, adding that in those camps, innocent people were killed indiscriminately.

Referring to some people's saying that if  BNP comes to power it will do the same thing like the Awami League, he said they actually compared BNP to Awami League just because they afraid of the popularity of BNP, reports BSS.
