A new political platform named United Peoples Bangladesh (UP Bangladesh) was officially launched on Friday afternoon at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka, with Ali Ahsan Junaed declared as its Convenor.

The event, held shortly after 4:30 PM on May 9, carried emotional weight with the presence of the father of Shaheed Wasim, a martyr of the July Movement, lending symbolic significance to the launch.

During the announcement, UP Bangladesh unveiled its key leadership positions. Arefin Mohammad Hizbullah has been appointed as Member Secretary, Rafe Salman Rifat as Chief Coordinator, Naim Ahmed as Chief Organizer, and Shahrin Sultana Ira will serve as the Spokesperson.

The platform also announced a central committee of 82 members, indicating its aim to build a wide-reaching organisational base.

UP Bangladesh’s leaders presented the initiative as a new and inclusive voice in national politics, emerging at a time of intensified political dialogue across the country.
