The interim government on Saturday pledged to take necessary actions, in alignment with the people, against any activities that obstruct its ability to carry out its responsibilities.

In an official statement, the Council of Advisers warned that if its work is impeded by defeated elements or foreign conspiracies, the government will inform the public of all underlying reasons and determine its course of action accordingly.

Describing itself as a reflection of the aspirations behind the July uprising, the interim administration reaffirmed its commitment to reforms, the rule of law, and free and fair elections.

“The interim government embodies the expectations of the July movement,” the Council stated, highlighting its responsibility to implement reforms, ensure justice, and prepare for credible national polls.

The statement called for broader unity to maintain national stability, support the electoral process, advance judicial work, and prevent any return to authoritarianism.

It further noted that the government is open to hearing from political parties and will clearly outline its stance on emerging issues.

An unscheduled meeting of the Council of Advisers was held on Saturday, following a session of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec). The meeting took place at the Planning Commission in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, with Chief Adviser Professor Yunus presiding.

The discussion centred on the government's three core responsibilities—elections, reforms, and justice—and how these are being disrupted by unwarranted demands, politically motivated statements, and unlawful activities that are sowing confusion among the public.

Despite facing numerous obstacles, the interim government remains steadfast in its mission, disregarding narrow group interests in favour of national priorities, the statement added.
