Yunus Begins Talks with Political, Islamist Party Leaders

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus began a series of meetings on Sunday afternoon with leaders of various political parties to discuss urgent national matters, including the upcoming elections and political reforms.

Following the initial round of talks, he is scheduled to meet leaders from several Islamist parties and organisations as part of the ongoing dialogue process.

In the first meeting, political figures including Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Saiful Haque, Zonayed Saki, Hasnat Qayyum, Mujibur Rahman Manju, Mujahidul Islam Selim, Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan, Tipu Biswas, Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu and Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan took part in the discussions.

The second session is expected to be attended by Maulana Sadiqur Rahman, Maulana Rezaul Karim, Maulana Mamunul Haque, Maulana Ahmed Abdul Quader, Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi, Maulana Manjurul Islam Affendi, Nurul Haque Noor, Maulana Musa Bin Izhar and Mufti Maulana Shakhawat Hossain Razi.

On Saturday, Professor Yunus also held separate meetings with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party.
