CA Invites BNP for Talks Again on June 2 Amid Political Crisis

Chief Adviser Prof Dr. Muhammad Yunus has invited BNP for talks again on June 2.
BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said this during a discussion in the capital today.
He expressed doubts about the ongoing dialogue, stating, “The government is continuing formal talks with political parties one after another, but there is no real progress.”
“Discussions are happening, but nothing concrete is being done. To overcome the crisis of public trust, genuine steps are needed—not just formalities,” Salahuddin added.
Regarding the Constitutional Reform Commission, he said, “It seems if the commission tries to amend the constitution unilaterally, the nation will have to accept it. But forceful imposition is not democracy—it would be another Baksal.”
Salahuddin reiterated BNP’s position: “We believe in a democratic state where differences of opinion exist. There is no justification for holding elections after December. The people want elections immediately under a neutral government.”
