BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed today said students and masses embraced martyrdom in July uprising was to store democracy.

He said these at a press conference in Nayapaltan in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Rizvi said, if the elections are held in April next year, the period of campaign activities will coincide with the month of Ramadan, which will cause suffering for the people, reports BSS.

“Therefore, considering the convenience of the people, we want elections by December this year. Otherwise, questions may arise about the government's impartiality," he said.
