Dhaka, Aug 30 - Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur sustained head and nose injuries in Friday’s attack, said Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, director of DMCH.

“The reason behind excessive bleeding was head injury and fractured nose bone. The bleeding was stopped and he regained consciousness,” he said while talking to reporters on Saturday.

He underwent a CT scan on Saturday morning and it is not possible to say Nur is out of danger before 48 hours, said Asaduzzaman.

Besides, a high-level medical board consisting of six members was formed for his treatment,  said the director.

He is now currently receiving treatment at the ICU.

A clash broke out between activists of his party and Jatiya Party in front of his party office on Friday night.

As tensions escalated, police and army personnel charged batons, leaving Nur and several others injured. - UNB
