He was speaking at the prize-giving ceremony after the final match of the Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Football Tournament at Panpara Government Primary School in Savar on Friday, reports UNB.
“Polls will be held under the current system in the first half of next February,” he added.
He also implied that demanding PR was just an attempt to create political tension.
“The government has already taken enough time. If you have demands, raise them in parliament after the election,” he stated.
The event was organized by ward 1 Jubo Dal of Tetuljhara Union.
Several leaders spoke at the meeting, presided over by Tetuljhara Union BNP president Haji Mohiuddin Ahmed, including Dhaka District BNP Organizing Secretary Barrister Irfan Ibne Aman Ami, former Savar Upazila BNP president Haji Jamal Uddin Sarkar, former general secretary Kafil Uddin and Tetuljhara Union BNP general secretary Abdul Aziz.
