Italian Ambassador meets Jamaat Ameer

Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Antonio Alessandro paid a courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the latter's office at Bashundhara in the capital this morning.


The meeting took place around 9:00am and was also attended by the Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Dhaka, Federico Zamparelli.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Alessandro inquired about Dr. Rahman's health and wished him a speedy and complete recovery.

During the discussion, the two sides exchanged views on the current situation in Bangladesh, bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Italy, the upcoming parliamentary elections, the promotion and sustainability of democracy, as well as matters related to investment, economy, and diplomacy.

Both parties expressed optimism about further strengthening mutual cooperation and enhancing development and progress in both countries in the future.

Jamaat Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, who also heads Jamaat's Central Publicity and Media Department, among others, were present at the meeting, reports BSS.
