Dhaka, Oct 17 - BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia returned home on Friday night after receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital for two days.

“Madam (Khaleda) was discharged from the hospital as per the advice of the medical board,” said her personal physician Prof AZM Zahid Hossain.

He said the BNP chief left the hospital around 11pm and reached her home shortly afterwards.

She was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Thursday and underwent several medical tests as advised by her medical board.

After assessing the test reports and her overall condition, Zahid said, the medical board decided to discharge her.

Earlier on August 28, Khaleda visited Evercare Hospital for some routine tests and returned home the same night after completing them.

The 80-year-old former Prime Minister has long been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, and complications related to her kidneys, lungs, and eyes, among other health issues. - UNB
