Prof Yunus asks for simplifying reform report for people

The National Consensus Commission handed over to Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus an 8-volume report on its recommendations, proceedins and activities on Wednesday 29 Oct 2025.

Dhaka, Oct 29 - Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday asked for the preparation of an easy-to-understand book of the National Consensus Commission report and making it available to the people of the country.

“A simplified version of this report must be made for the common people. It should be published in a book form so that general people, as well as school and college students, can read and understand it, and also can explain it to others,” he said.

The Chief Adviser made the call when an eight-volume report, detailing the commission’s recommendations, proceedings, and activities was handed over to him by the NCC members at the State Guest House Jamuna in the evening.

He called for the report to be published in book format in both English and Bengali versions. “It should also be considered so that this book becomes essential reading for students in future and the younger generation will read it, learn about its contents and share it with their parents,” Prof Yunus, also the chief of the consensus commission.

NCC Vice-Chair Prof Ali Riaz and its members Justice Md Emdadul Haque, Dr Iftikharuzzaman, Dr Badiul Alam Mazumdar and Dr Md Ayub Mia, and the Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haider were present at the time.

During the handover ceremony, Prof Ali Riaz said, “The eight-volume report includes the July National Charter 2025, the commission’s operational processes, context, written proposals received from various political parties, public opinions, spreadsheets sent by the commission to political parties and the issues of all discussions and dialogues.

“We believe that this eight-volume report will serve as a reference for research both domestically and internationally in the future,” he said.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the commission submitted its recommendations on the implementation of the July National Charter 2025 to the government. - UNB
