Jamaat Ameer expresses deep shock over earthquake casualties

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the casualties caused by the earthquake that jolted Dhaka and several other regions of the country this morning.


Dr Shafiqur Rahman conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of the departed souls. 

He also called on authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and compensation for the victims, while also wishing a speedy recovery for those hurt.

Jamaat Ameer also stressed the need for strict monitoring to ensure that high-rise buildings are constructed in compliance with the national building code. 

In the statement he further noted that it is the government’s responsibility to raise public awareness to minimize losses during earthquakes and other natural disasters, reports BSS.
