Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho and an independent candidate in the upcoming national election from the Dhaka-8 constituency, is likely to be taken abroad on Monday for medical treatment, subject to final approval from a medical board.

Dr Mohammad Abdul Ahad, a resident physician at the Neurosurgery Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said a decision has been made in principle to send Hadi overseas. However, the medical board will assess his condition on Monday morning to determine whether he is fit to travel.

“If the board gives clearance, arrangements will be made to fly him abroad for further treatment,” the physician added.
