BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday said they aim to collectively build a Bangladesh that is safe and secure for all citizens.
“Together, we want to build the Bangladesh a mother dreams of—a safe country where people can leave their homes without fear and return safely,” he said.
Tarique Rahman made the remarks while addressing a mass reception programme at the capital’s July 36 Expressway, popularly known as the 300 Feet Road, on Thursday afternoon.
Referring to the nation’s history, he said Bangladesh was achieved through the sacrifice of millions of martyrs and remains their cherished motherland.
He added that people want their right to speak freely restored and expect to receive their rightful entitlements based on merit.
“The time has come for all of us to unite and rebuild the country,” he said.
Tarique Rahman reached the reception venue at around 3:50pm, where BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir welcomed him on behalf of party leaders and activists.
