BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has appointed ABM Abdus Sattar, former Secretary of the Bangladesh government, as his private secretary, and AAM Saleh (Saleh Shibly), former General Secretary of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity, as his press secretary.

The appointments were announced on Saturday in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The release said, “ABM Abdus Sattar has been appointed as private secretary to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, and AAM Saleh (Saleh Shibly) as press secretary.”

Earlier, Sattar served as private secretary to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, while Saleh Shibly had key press and administrative responsibilities under Tarique Rahman.

Saleh Shibly returned to the country on December 25 on the same flight from the United Kingdom, reports UNB.
