Dhaka dwellers advised to wear mask for very unhealthy AQI

The Department of Environment (DoE) has advised Dhaka residents to wear facemasks when stepping outside, as the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) reached a very unhealthy level at 10:00 AM today. An official statement emphasized the importance of protecting oneself from the hazardous air quality.
The DoE also urged sensitive individuals, such as those with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, and children, to avoid outdoor activities unless absolutely necessary.
The department highlighted that the AQI in Dhaka and surrounding areas often fluctuates during the dry season, sometimes worsening from an unhealthy to a very unhealthy status.
