Eminent journalist Mrinal Krishna Roy breathed his last on Sunday morning at a hospital in capital Dhaka. He was 94. A freedom fighter he was suffering from old age complications for some time. He has left behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. 

Mrinal Krishna Roy started his career as a journalist in the then Pakistan Observer in 1965. Subsequently he warked for the now defunct The Bangladesh Times, The Financial Express and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha news agency.

Last respects were paid to him when his mortal remains was brought to the National Press Club in the afternoon. He was cremated at the Postagola crematory late in the afternoon.

Press Club President Hasan Hafiz, general secretary Ayub Bhuiyan condoled the death and sympathised with the members of the bereaved family. – GreenWatch Desk
