Rizwana noted that the government is committed to fostering an environment where journalists can work freely and responsibly. She pointed to the establishment of a Media Commission, which aims to help journalists report objectively, serving the public interest without fear or bias.
"Journalists have a key responsibility to bring national issues to light, with in-depth coverage on critical topics, especially environmental concerns that impact the public," she said. Rizwana also highlighted the power of truth and accountability in journalism, emphasizing that bold, unbiased reporting is a driving force for positive social change.
"Fearless and impartial reporting is instrumental in guiding the nation toward progress and justice," she added.
Law Adviser Asif Nazrul graced the event as the chief guest, joined by DRU President Shukur Ali Shuvo, General Secretary Mohiuddin, and senior media leaders, all of whom celebrated the significance of quality journalism in shaping a democratic society.
