Journalist Mahmudul Haque passes away

Senior sub editor of the Financial Express Mahmudul Haque died of prolonged illness at his residence in Shanir Akhra today.


He was 55, family sources said.

Haque was suffering from different diseases including kidney, heart, liver and diabetes.

He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

His first namaz-e-janaza was held at Shanir Akhra while the second one at his home at Sherpur.

Later, he was buried at his family graveyard.

Dhaka Sub-Editors Council (DSEC) president Muktadir Anik and general secretary Jawhar Iqbal Khan expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Mahmudul Haque.

In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, reports UNB.
