The Met Office has predicted rain or thundershowers in parts of the country over 24 hours, starting from 9 am Saturday .



The Met Office has predicted rain or thundershowers in parts of the country over 24 hours, starting from 9 am Saturday (May 21, 2023).

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Khulna and Barishal divisions,” said the Met Office bulletin.

A mild heatwave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue, according to the bulletin.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country, according to the Met Office bulletin.

The highest temperature was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi while the lowest temperature was recorded at 20.5 degrees Celsius in Kishoreganj’s Nikli and Sylhet.

The weather office recorded the highest 34 mm rainfall in Sylhet.
