Rain, thundershowers likely over 8 divisions: Met Office

Many places including Dhaka experiences rain due to active monsoon



Dhaka, Sept 26 - Light to moderate rain or thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)'s latest weather bulletin on Thursday.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s highest 104mm rain was recorded at Kumarkhali in 24 hours till 6am Thursday.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through India’s Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal to Assam across Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.-UNB
