Light to moderate rain likely across Bangladesh in 24hrs

Dhaka, Sept 28 - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted light to moderate rains across the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Rangpur division; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin.

Day and night temperatures may rise by 1-2 °C over the country.

Besides, the axis of monsoon trough runs through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.-UNB
