Emergency in Rafah

You may have seen the tragic events in Rafah, the of burning refugee tents, civilians including children being killed, and many grieving families left searching for remains in the wake of the brutal attack. The expanding Israeli ground offensive continues to displace already dispossessed families.

As Muslims around the world approach the blessed Islamic month of 'Dhul Hijjah', our hearts are heavy with the situation in Gaza.

Hadeel, a 13-year-old child displaced in Deir al Balah, shared with us:

"Eid Adha for me is when I'm with my friends and relatives. Now, I'm far from home and don't know the whereabouts of my friends and relatives. How can we have Eid Adha without a home, new clothes, food, or friends to play with?"

Despite these heart-wrenching conditions and severe restrictions in delivering aid, UNRWA is committed to stay and serve the people of the Gaza Strip.

Our teams continue to care for displaced families inside UNRWA shelters, to treat patients in our health centres, and to deliver water, flour, and medicine to hundreds of thous

Because of the generosity of our donors, UNRWA has been able to reach 90 per cent of families in Gaza with up to 3 rounds of flour so far.

The humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza are enormous and almost everyone is hungry.

Dhul Hijjah is a time of increased spirituality and devotion to Allah (SWT). When you donate Zakat, 100 per cent of your contribution goes directly to feed families in need.

Our hearts and prayers are with those approaching this holy time, in the midst of a horrific war. Help us bring them the support and hope they need now.

In solidarity and with immense gratitude,

UNRWA’s appeal for help for starving Gazans
