Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman has said a durable solution to the Rohingya crisis lies in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, urging the international community to intensify efforts for safe, dignified and voluntary repatriation of the displaced Rohingyas.

He made the remarks while speaking as a panelist at a session titled “Global Refugee Protection System in the Face of Displacement Crisis” at the ongoing Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026 in Turkey on Friday.

The foreign minister said the international community must move beyond humanitarian assistance and play a more proactive and result-oriented role in creating favourable conditions in Rakhine for the return of Rohingyas.

Expressing deep concern over declining international donor support, he called for increased funding, ensuring stability and security in Rakhine, and taking urgent steps to safeguard human rights.

Dr. Rahman also noted that since assuming office, both the Government of Myanmar and the Arakan Army have welcomed him, reports BSS.

He said the Rohingya crisis is a solvable issue, but it requires a coordinated global approach and sustained international cooperation.
