Expat Remittances Hit $516M in Early September.



Bangladesh received US$516 million in remittances during the first six days of September, marking a 7.1 percent decline compared to $556 million over the same period last year.

Since the start of the current fiscal year (July 1 to September 6, 2025-26), expatriates have sent $5.41 billion, up 15.4 percent from $4.69 billion during the same period last year. July and August saw record inflows of $2.48 billion and $2.42 billion, respectively.

Overall, Bangladesh’s remittance earnings reached a historic high of $30.33 billion in FY2024-25, a 27 percent increase from $23.74 billion in FY2023-24.
