Associate Professor Dr Ifte Khairul Amin, an inspector and consultant of the innovation team, confirmed the information .

The students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have invented Bangladesh’s first wireless charging electric vehicle.

The experimentation for this groundbreaking innovation was carried out in the university's power electronics lab by members of the "Power Electronics Group", who study at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).

Associate Professor Dr Ifte Khairul Amin, an inspector and consultant of the innovation team, confirmed the information on Sunday afternoo

He said the vehicle has high-frequency inverter technology, battery management system, voltage control system, kilohertz range resonant coupling, error connection prevention technique, protection system, and various modern technologies.

The vehicle has more than 40% efficiency, Dr Ifte Khairul Amin added.

The professor also said these sorts of vehicles are only seen in developed countries and hopes Bangladesh will soon start using these wireless vehicles innovated by the team.

"This innovation is such a great achievement for our university. It is also a big milestone in Bangladesh's progress,” he added.

The team members of the project are undergraduate students are Nahid Islam, Md Kabir Hasan and Azam Zaman and fourth-year students Rezwan Zakaria, Md Rifat Hossain, Abir Mahmud, Md Sajjad Hussain, Md Irfan Uddin Ahmed Mehedi and Md Taosiful Alam.
