Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, Adviser for Planning addressing an annual research review workshop at SAU on Tuesday 25 May 2025.

The Annual Research Review Workshop 2024 of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Organized by the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System, (SAURES), was inaugurated on May 25, 2025 in the university’s administrative building conference room.
Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, Adviser to the Ministry of Planning, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, attended the workshop as Chief Guest while the event was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, Vice-Chancellor of SAU. Professor Dr. F. M. Aminuzzaman, Director of SAURES moderated the proceedings. Also present were Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Belal Hossain and Treasurer Professor Muhammad Abul Bashar of the University.

In his address, Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud observed that agricultural technologies evolved through research have been among the most beneficial innovations for the country-- significantly contributing to food security by meeting diverse demands for fruits and other food products.
Dr. Wahiuddin Mahmud expressed his satisfaction with the MS and PhD research activities of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) in spite of limited availability of research fields. He assured that necessary initiatives would be taken to return the trade fair ground to SAU for the use as research space.
Dr. Mahmud further observed that bureaucratic hurdles often obstruct the progress of research, which otherwise holds tremendous potential to propel national development. Despite these challenges, he praised Bangladesh’s agricultural scientists for their continued dedication and quiet perseverance in advancing knowledge and innovation.
Prof. Dr. Mahmud then formally inaugurated the two-day research review workshop 2024.
Deans of different Faculties, Directors, Proctor and Faculty members from all departments were also in attendance, reflecting the university’s collective commitment to advancing agricultural research and education in Bangladesh.
