
Winner of the first prize of BPKS lottery 2026 Manik Mia, a fish farmer of Mymensingh is receiving a cheque for the prize money at the BPKS complex on Saturday 10 October 2026.
The prize distribution ceremony of the Government-approved "BPKS National Lottery-2023" was successfully concluded today at the BPKS Complex in Dakshinkhan, Uttara, Dhaka. Organized by the Bangladesh Protibondhi Kallyan Somiti (BPKS), the lottery initiative aimed to raise funds for the economic self-reliance, empowerment, and welfare of grassroots persons with disabilities across Bangladesh. The government-authorized ticket sales ran from May 30 to July 13, followed by the official draw held on July 19, 2026.
Sattar Dulal, Founder & Executive Director of BPKS and UN Disability Rights Champion, attended the function as the Chief Guest. Mr. Dulal is also a member of the National Steering Committee on the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities, chaired by the Honourable Prime Minister.
Veteran journalist and editor of Green Watch, Mostafa Kamal Majumder, Md. Humayun Kabir, Deputy Secretary of the Internal Resources Division (Ministry of Finance), Golam Mostafa, Founder and CEO of Resource Development Foundation were special guests. The function was presided over by Haji Md. Alam Kabir, Project Director and Member Secretary of the BPKS National Lottery Project.
In his keynote address, Abdus Sattar Dulal lauded the current government's relentless efforts toward the development and social protection of disabled individuals in Bangladesh. He wished BPKS continued success in driving community-led initiatives that mainstream disability inclusivity in national budgets and planning.
In compliance with government regulations, a 20% source tax was deducted from the prize money before distributing the remaining amounts via bank checks. The 1st prize winner, Manik Mia from Mymensingh, officially received a check of BDT 2,400,000 (Twenty-Four Lakh BDT) after tax deduction. The 2nd prize went to Madhab Mondal from Satkhira, who received BDT 40,000 after tax. Checks were similarly handed over to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th prize winners. The lottery executive committee informed, the remaining minor prizes out of the total 488 announced slots had already been successfully disbursed to their respective winners. – Press release
